The Deputy Ministry of Shipping has announced the further strengthening of its cooperation with the international giant in the cruise sector, Royal Caribbean Group, through the addition of the cruise ship 'Navigator” of the Seas' to the Cyprus registry.
'Navigator of the Seas,' with a capacity of 140,000 tons, is the second of the Group's ships to be registered on the Cyprus registry, following the registration of the cruise ship 'Spectrum of the Seas' in January 2023.
Following the Group's decision in 2023 to establish a permanent headquarters in Limassol, which is the centre of its shipping activities in the Eastern Mediterranean, the registration of the 'Navigator" of the Seas' confirms the Group's commitment and confidence in the Cypriot flag and further strengthens Cyprus' position as a reliable and competitive shipping centre, a relevant announcement from the Deputy Minister notes.
"The Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanolis, on behalf of the Government, expresses its warm thanks to Mr. Jason Liberty, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, Mr. Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, Mr. Sean Treacy, Senior Vice President of Royal Caribbean International as well as Mr. Christos Karavos, Director of Europe & Middle East, Royal Caribbean International, for the trust and substantial strengthening of cooperation," the announcement continues, concluding, "Further strengthening cooperation with the Group is a clear sign of confidence in Cypriot shipping and the country's maritime policy, which continues to develop dynamically, strengthening its competitiveness and international presence."
