The District Administration Offices of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Famagusta (Paralimni office) will remain open and will receive applications for registration on the electoral rolls and declarations for voting at polling stations abroad, on Saturday, 28 March from 8am until 2pm, the Interior Ministry has said, ahead of the parliamentary elections set to take place in May.
In a press release, it also said that on Thursday, 2 April, the last day for registration on the electoral roll and submission of a declaration for voting abroad, the above District Administration Offices, Citizen Service Centres and the Ministry of Interior will remain open until 5pm.
Electronic submission of an application for registration on the electoral rolls, as well as electronic submission of a declaration for voting at a polling station abroad, will be possible until midnight on 2 April.
The Ministry of Interior recalls that in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections of 24 May, all citizens of the Republic aged 18 years and over who have had their usual residence in Cyprus for the last six months have the right to vote. The last day to submit an application for registration on the electoral roll is 2 April. After the above date, no new registration and/or change can be made to the electoral roll.
Therefore, citizens are invited to submit their applications in a timely manner. Young people who complete their 18th year of age by the date of the elections also have the right to register on the electoral roll. The application in this case must also be submitted in advance and no later than 2 April 2026.
Turkish Cypriot holders of a Republic of Cyprus identity card with an address in the areas under the control of the government are also entitled to register on the electoral roll. For those aged up to 25 years, applications can also be submitted electronically, through the Elections website, at elections.gov.cy. Applications in paper form are submitted to the local District Administration Offices, Citizen Service Centres and the Cyprus Post Offices' Citizen Centres.
Application forms can be obtained from the above points, the Ministry of Interior and the Elections website.
Overseas polling stations
Regarding overseas polling stations, it is recalled that polling stations will operate abroad, specifically in Greece, the United Kingdom and Belgium, for voters who are already registered on the electoral roll or will register by 2 April.
The Ministry notes that in order to enable the operation of polling stations abroad, a special electoral register is being prepared, where the details of registered voters are transferred from the permanent electoral register of Cyprus, following a relevant declaration submitted by the interested parties.
Polling stations abroad, in accordance with the current electoral legislation, may operate only in those cities where a relevant interest is submitted by at least 30 voters from each electoral district.
The submission of a declaration for the exercise of the right to vote in a centre abroad is made either electronically, through the Elections website, or in printed form, at the Embassies, Consulates of the Republic abroad, at the local Offices of the District Administrations, at the Citizen Service Centres, at the Citizen Centres of the Cyprus Post Offices and at the Ministry of Interior. Declaration forms can be obtained from the above locations and the Elections website.
