Government highlights strengthening investment ties between Cyprus and India

The government of Cyprus has highlighted the country's flourishing relationship with India in a social media post.

The post on X notes, "Cyprus-India: New markets, investments and strategic prospects With one of the world's largest economies and a strategic partner with an increasingly strong presence in the international environment, Cyprus is building a relationship that creates specific political, economic and geostrategic prospects for our country."

It continues, "The upgrade of Cyprus-India relations to a Strategic Partnership strengthens the political coordination of the two countries and expands cooperation in critical areas, such as security, defense, counter-terrorism, technology, innovation, shipping, education and connectivity. At the same time, it opens up new prospects for investment and access for Cypriot businesses to the Indian market, with Cyprus already among the ten largest investor countries in India and its investments having doubled in the last decade."

"At the same time," the post goes on to note, "the emergence of Cyprus as an important gateway between India and Europe offers Indian businesses access to the single European market of over 450 million consumers, while the strengthening of the EU-India strategic relationship and the prospects of IMEC upgrade our country's position on the new map of trade and connectivity between India, the Middle East and Europe. A historic relationship that is now gaining strategic depth and translating into tangible results for Cyprus."
