The position that "the real estate market remains the most timeless and preferable investment choice" was stated at the 20th Real Estate, Property Development & Construction Conference & Exhibition organised by Altia by the Executive Director of Cyfield Group, George Chrysochos.
In his presentation entitled 'Nicosia Unlocked: Growth, Confidence and Opportunity,' Chrysochos highlighted the role of real estate as a key pillar of investment, pointing out that it is a simple and understandable "brick-and-mortar" investment, which covers one of the most basic needs, that of housing for families and businesses.
As he noted, the real estate market continues to attract both Cypriot and international investors, constituting a strong alternative to other investment products, such as bonds, deposits or more volatile markets.
At the same time, Chrysochos emphasised that the development of the sector is based on factors such as economic growth, population growth and inflation, while at the same time it contributes to attracting foreign investment, functioning as an exportable product for the Cypriot economy.
Nicosia is strengthening its position as a business and investment centre
He made particular reference to Nicosia, underlining that it is a financial and business centre, as well as a political and administrative capital, bringing together banks, insurance companies, corporate headquarters, government agencies and embassies.
As he mentioned, the city is also an important economic and population core, with the largest workforce, while it has a strong education and research ecosystem through universities and research centres.
According to the expert, investment activity in Nicosia is increasing and diversifying, with companies from Israel, the United Kingdom, the United States and India choosing the city to set up offices and regional centres.
He further noted that, according to data from Invest Cyprus, dozens of international companies are already operating in Nicosia, strengthening its role as a hub for technology businesses and innovative activities.
Finally, Chrysochos underlined that stable macroeconomic conditions, sustainable demand for housing and the continued presence of foreign buyers support the long-term prospects of the market, while the balanced price and rental environment enhances Cyprus' attractiveness for both investors seeking capital appreciation and those aiming for income returns.
