The number of building permits authorised in Cyprus increased by 10.7% in April 2026 compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, according to data released by the Statistical Service.
A total of 639 building permits were issued during the month. The permits had a total value of €413.0 million and covered a total area of 335.3 thousand square metres. They provided for the construction of 1,728 dwelling units.
During the January–April 2026 period, a total of 2,915 building permits were issued, compared with 2,157 during the corresponding period of 2025, representing an increase of 35.1%.
The total value of the permits issued during the first four months of the year rose by 46.1%, while the total area increased by 45.5%.
The number of dwelling units covered by the permits recorded a significantly higher increase of 65.0% compared with the same period last year.
