It all started from Cyprus: 30 years of Edelweiss

In 1996, exactly 30 years ago, the Swiss airline Edelweiss began its operations by operating its first commercial flight. In fact, the milestone of its establishment is linked to Cyprus, as the company's first commercial flight was operated to Pafos Airport, with a stopover at Larnaka Airport in February 1996.

Since then, it has been connecting the Swiss capital with our country all year round, in an important air connection from every point of view that does not stop even in the winter season.

Stable presence all year round

The company connects Cyprus with Zurich, operating weekly flights to and from Larnaka Airport. This winter season, it is connecting Cyprus with the Swiss capital with three weekly flights, while in the upcoming summer season, from April to the end of October, it will increase the frequency of its flights, as every year, with a schedule that ranges from around 9-10 flights per week.

In 2025, Edelweiss transported a total of over 110,000 passengers to Cyprus. The company serves a large volume of passengers visiting our country for leisure purposes, as well as people traveling from Cyprus for holidays or business purposes to the Swiss capital, or to other destinations with a stopover in Zurich.
