Construction material prices rose by 3.33% year-on-year in July 2026, with the largest increases recorded in metal products and wood, insulation, chemical and plastic products.
According to data published by CySTAT, the Price Index of Construction Materials for July 2026 reached 123,00 units, recording an increase of 0.23% compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 3.33%.
By main commodity category, increases were observed in metallic products (4.94%), products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics (4.58%), electromechanical products (3.29%), minerals (2.51%) and mineral products (0.98%).
For the period January-July 2026, the index increased by 1.87% compared to the corresponding period of 2025.
At the same time, increases of more than 6% were recorded across individual categories compared with the corresponding month of 2025, with the largest price rises seen in electrical equipment and materials, where prices increased by 6.61%. This was followed by plastic products, up 6.58%, aluminium and other metal products, up 6.14%, and wood products, up 5.12%.
In addition, prices of iron and steel products rose by 4.32%, while the annual increase for cement stood at 3.88%. Other electromechanical products recorded an increase of 3.22%, while chemical products rose by 2.80%.
On the other hand, heating and cooling equipment recorded a 1.67% year-on-year decrease, while ceramic products saw a marginal increase of 0.23%.
