Nikos Christodoulides referred to the acceleration of procedures for the completion of the agreements with Egypt, while receiving Javier La Rosa, Chevron's President, Base Assets and Emerging Countries, who is visiting Cyprus before going to Egypt.
Welcoming La Rosa, President Christodoulides said that "we appreciate your presence (in the Cypriot EEZ), it is a strong vote of confidence, not only for us, but also for Europe and for the potential of the region to develop as an alternative energy source for Europe."
"Since our last meeting in New York, in September, we have had many developments in the energy sector. We must complete with Egypt what is pending, as soon as possible, so that we can start using the Aphrodite field. We must accelerate our efforts," the President of the Republic said.
