Employment recorded an increase of 1.4% in Persons and 1.9% in Hours Worked in the third quarter of 2025, compared to the same period of 2024, according to a provisional estimate by CySTAT.

Total employment for the 3rd quarter of 2025 is estimated at 523,510 persons, of which 470,755 are employees and 52,755 are self-employed.
Compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024, total employment increased by 1.4% for the 3rd quarter of 2025. The most significant percentage increases were observed in the economic activities of Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, accommodation and food service activities and manufacturing.
Hours worked
Actual hours worked for the 3rd quarter of 2025 are estimated at 236,757 thousand, recording an increase of 1.9% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024.
The most significant percentage increases were observed in the same economic activities: Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, Accommodation and food service activities and Manufacturing.
