Total sales of petroleum products in Cyprus recorded an annual increase of 11.2% in September 2025, reaching 144,720 tonnes while an increase of 4.7% was recorded in the first nine months of the year, according to data released by CySTAT.
The rise was mainly driven by a sharp increase in oil supplies to ships (112.3%) and aircraft (16.8%). Sales of asphalt (29.7%), liquefied petroleum gas (9.1%), gasoline (8.6%), heating gas oil (7.4%) and diesel (6.9%) also went up. In contrast, sales of light fuel oil fell by 47.8%.
Sales from petroleum product stations amounted to 61,537 tonnes, marking a 6.3% year-on-year increase.
Compared with August 2025, total sales of petroleum products rose by 17.3%. Supplies to ships increased by 61.7%, while sales of diesel and gasoline rose by 21.1% and 10% respectively. A decrease of 5.6% was recorded in oil supplies to aircraft.
Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of September rose by 38.9% compared with the previous month.
During the period January–September 2025, total sales of petroleum products increased by 4.7% compared with the corresponding period of 2024.
