Deposits and loans in Cyprus both recorded a net increase in September, according to statistics released by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
According to the October 2025 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics, total deposits in September 2025 recorded a net increase of €670.2 million, compared with a net increase of €44.3 million in August 2025. The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 6.3%, compared with 6% in August 2025. The outstanding amount of total deposits reached €57.2 billion in September 2025.
Deposits of Cyprus residents exhibited an increase of €456.6 million. More analytically, deposits of non-financial corporations increased by €397.2 million, while household deposits recorded a decrease of €32.5 million. Deposits of the remaining domestic sectors exhibited a total increase of €91.9 million.
Total loans in September 2025 recorded a net increase of €269 million, compared with a net decrease of €60.8 million in August 2025. The annual growth rate of total loans stood at 7.9%, compared with 7.2% in August 2025. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €26.6 billion in September 2025.
Loans to Cyprus residents exhibited an increase of €101.7 million. More analytically, loans to households and non-financial corporations increased by €13 million and €84.1 million respectively. Loans to the remaining domestic sectors exhibited a total increase of €4.6 million.
