“You can’t be alive in 2025 without noticing that the world of Artificial Intelligence has exploded. This is a generational change and a huge opportunity,” Nikos Botinis, Regional Manager Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Cisco, has underlined, speaking at Cisco Connect 2025 in Nicosia.
Botinis, who welcomed the conference audience on behalf of Antonis Tsiboukis, Managing Director, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Balkans, Cisco, highlighted in his presentation that the explosion of AI is accompanied by unprecedented challenges, such as the risk of malicious use, the need to shield the new technological ecosystem and the protection of the data that feeds the models. “Cybersecurity is an arms race,” he said, adding that business environments are now more complex than ever, with multiple public clouds, private data centers and edge deployments requiring holistic visibility and resilience.
According to Botinis, Cisco has already redefined its strategy, consolidating its solutions portfolio and strengthening its core areas of innovation, through moves such as the acquisition of Splunk. “At heart, we remain a networking company and a security company,” he said, emphasising that the 'Connecting and Protecting' philosophy remains constant, but is evolving to meet the increased needs of customers in an era of widespread digital transformation.
Botinis presented Cisco's strategic pillars, while, in conclusion, he underlined that Cisco's timeless advantages, expertise in networks and security, platform approach, AI utilisation and strong global collaborative community, constitute the foundation for building trust with customers for over 40 years.
