The Bank of Cyprus announced it has achieved its best results to-date in the 2025 EU-wide stress test, which, it notes, reflects, “the very good balance sheet quality, profitability and strong capital base.”
In a statement announcing the results of the 2025 EU-wide stress test, conducted by the European Banking Authority (EBA), in cooperation with the European Central Bank (ECB) and national supervisory authorities, the Bank of Cyprus said that it has achieved Maximum CET1 ratio depletion “<300bps”, Minimum CET1 ratio “≥14%” and Minimum Tier 1 leverage ratio “LR ≥ 6%’.
“This has been achieved by only six of the 45 banks in the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM Banking) that participated in the exercise,” it adds.
The Bank of Cyprus notes it participated in the stress test as part of the sample of smaller eurozone financial institutions examined by the SSM.
