Shipping Deputy Minister meets with President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport

Shipping Deputy Minister to the President of Cyprus, Marina Hadjimanolis, recently welcomed the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, to the Shipping Deputy Ministry’s offices in Limassol.

The 3 July visit followed Hadjimanolis’ official visit to Egypt in October 2024, during which she visited AASTMT’s facilities in Alexandria and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster cooperation in maritime education, research, technology, and innovation between the two parties, a press release from the Deputy Ministry noted.

During the meeting in Limassol, a constructive and substantive dialogue took place, focusing on issues of mutual interest and future ventures aimed at enhancing maritime education and professional training of seafarers, it added.

"The Shipping Deputy Minister also extended an invitation to the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, to participate in the upcoming Conference "Maritime Cyprus 2025," which he gladly accepted," the press release concluded.
