European Affairs Minister in London for working visit

Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna is paying London a working visit ahead of an informal expanded meeting on Cyprus in New York, as well as in the framework of preparations for the assumption of the Cypriot EU Council Presidency in the first half of 2026.

"The Deputy Minister's contacts in London will focus on the Cyprus problem ahead of the expanded meeting in New York next week and EU-UK relations in the framework of the assumption by Cyprus of the EU Council Presidency in the first six months of 2026," the Deputy Ministry said in a press release.

In particular, Raouna will have meetings with UK Minister of State for Europe and North America Stephen Doughty and Second Permanent Secretary responsible for European Union and International Economic Affairs Michael Ellam.

She will also meet with Armida van Rej, Chatham House Senior Research Fellow and head of the Europe Programme and Praful Nargund, founder and director of the Good Growth Foundation think tank.

During her stay in London, the Deputy Minister will take part as a keynote speaker in the annual parliamentary meeting of the UK Cypriots Federation, which is co-organised with the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Cyprus in the House of Commons, the press release added.
