Net increase in total deposits of €654.7 million in June 2025, Central Bank says

Total deposits in Cyprus recorded a net increase of €654.7 million in June 2025, compared to a net increase of €20.8 million in May 2025.

According to a press release issued by the Central Bank of Cyprus on monetary financial institutions (MFI) deposit and loan statistics for June 2025, included in the July 2025 Monetary and Financial Statistics publication, the annual change rate in total deposits reached 7.1%, compared to 5.8% in May 2025, while the balance of total deposits in June 2025 reached €56.6 billion.

As stated, deposits of Cyprus residents increased by €652.7 million, with deposits of households and non-financial corporations increasing by €39.6 million and €465.3 million respectively, while deposits of other domestic sectors showed a total increase of €147.8 million.

It is added that total loans in June 2025 recorded a net increase of €672.3 million, compared with a net increase of €116.8 million in May 2025, with the annual change rate in total loans reaching 6.8%, compared to 5.1% in May 2025, while the balance of total loans in June 2025 reached €26.3 billion.

Finally, it is noted that loans to Cyprus residents increased by €471.1 million, with loans to households and non-financial corporations increasing by €110.1 million and €216.9 million respectively, while loans to other domestic sectors marked a total increase of €144.1 million.
