Investopia Global Mediterranean Forum to take place in Limassol

Cyprus is hosting an Investopia Global event in Limassol on Tuesday, 10 June, inviting governments, investors and business leaders to explore and identify investment opportunities in new economies.

The Investopia platform was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, UAE and now also Chairman of Investopia in November 2021.

In addition to its flagship event in Abu Dhabi, Investopia hosts a series of international satellite events under the Investopia Global initiative and the happening in Cyprus is one of them.

The invitation-only event, the Investopia Global Mediterranean Forum, is being held at the Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol and will be covered by CBN and InBusinessNews.

Investopia comprises three pillars: The Dialogue, a platform for discussions among leaders and innovators on economic trends and sectors; The Communities, which involves interactions among various stakeholders, including those from the private and public sectors and businesses; and The Marketplace, a platform where deals and capital introductions can be made.

H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, will lead a delegation of MOE/Investopia officials and 25-30 entrepreneurs, business leaders and investors from various sectors.

The Cyprus government will be represented by the Minister of Energy and Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou, together with a selected group of business leaders and entrepreneurs from the largest organisations in Cyprus from various industry sectors.

Panel discussions and keynote speeches scheduled for the day will examine themes including ‘Bridging Prosperity: Unlocking GCC-Eastern Mediterranean Synergies,’ ‘Cyprus: A Business Hub Connecting Three Continent,’ ‘Investment Frontiers: Connecting Markets Across the UAE and Mediterranean,’ ‘Banking Reimagined: Navigating Transformation in a New Financial Era,’ ‘Beyond Borders: Tourism’s Role in Economic Growth and Human Connection,’ ‘Innovate and Elevate: The Bridge Shaping the Digital Economy,’ ‘Charting the Course: Shipping in an Era of Transformation,’ and ‘Powering Progress: Investing in the Future of Energy and Water.’

There will also be a closed investor roundtable and exclusive one-to-one meetings between Cyprus and UAE representatives.

Kostas Koumis, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Republic of Cyprus; H.E. Olga Kefalogianni, Minister of Tourism of the Hellenic Republic; and Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation, and Technology of the Republic of Cyprus.
