Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices up 1.4% in April

The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices rose by 1.4% between April 2024 and April 2025, and increased by 0.7% in the month between March 2025 and April 2025, according to data published by CySTAT.

Compared to April 2024, the categories Recreation and Culture (7.1%) and Restaurants and Hotels (5.6%) showed the highest increases, while Clothing and Footwear (-7%) recorded the largest drop.

In comparison to March 2025, the most significant increases were observed in the categories Clothing and Footwear (5.2%) and Transport (4%).

For the period January – April 2025, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the most significant increases were recorded in the categories Recreation and Culture (7.3%) and Restaurants and Hotels (5.3%), while the largest decrease was recorded in Clothing and Footwear (-5.6%).

The most significant drop in economic categories, both compared to April 2024 and March 2025, was observed in Energy (-9.3% and -4.7% respectively).
