Association of Property Valuation Scientists elects new board, re-elects Poly Kourousides as Chairman

The Cyprus Association of Property Valuers has announced the election of its new Board of Directors, with Poly Kourousides re-elected as Chairman.

According to an Association announcement, the new Board comprises:

• Poly Kourousides: Chairman

• Kyriakos Makridis: Vice President

• Dimos Georgiou: Secretary

• Christakis Loizidis: Treasurer

• Stratos Christodoulou: Member

• Philippos Nicolaou: Member

• Chryso Christoforou: Member

• Stelios Mouzourides: Member

• Thomas Demopoulos: Member

The Board is committed to advancing the Association’s initiatives, the announcement continued, focusing on:

• Education and Continuous Professional Development: Organising seminars and workshops to enhance members’ knowledge and skills required for the property valuer profession.

• Public Protection: Promoting the profession’s value for public benefit and safeguarding the public from unqualified practitioners and non-professional approaches that do not adhere to International Valuation Standards.

• Public and Institutional Interventions: Actively engaging with governmental departments and other organisations to shape policies related to the real estate market and property assets.

Re-elected Chairman Poly Kourousides, who secured approximately 90% of the votes, expressed gratitude for the members’ trust.

He emphasised the Association’s mission to actively participate in decision-making processes concerning the real estate market, provide continuous education for members, and protect their professional interests.

Kourousides highlighted the essential role of property valuers in the economy, noting that without their well-founded scientific opinions, financing through loans becomes unfeasible.

He concluded by affirming his commitment to collaborating closely with the rest of the Association’s leadership, comprised of capable individuals dedicated to achieving the Association’s goals and mission.
