President discusses Cyprus' prospects as a hub of AI/innovation with Open AI (video)

President Nikos Christodoulides has met with OpenAI 's Chief Operating Officer Brad Lightcap and Chief Commercial Officer Giancarlo Lionetti, at the company's headquarters in San Fransisco.

Government Spokesman, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, said in a post on X that  the discussion on 7 April highlighted the strategic importance of AI and the pivotal role OpenAI plays in global technological advancement.

The discussion, he said, focused on the enormous potential of AI to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and actions.

"The use of innovative tools can make a catalytic contribution to the digital transformation of the country. At the same time, the prospects for the emergence of Cyprus as an emerging hub of AI and innovation were discussed", the spokesperson posted on X.
