Net Zero for Youth Programme hosts inaugural ‘Action Day’ (pics)

The Net Zero for Youth (NZ4Y) Programme successfully launched its first ‘Action Day’ on 29 March at Athalassa Park, engaging 60 students from 12 schools across Cyprus in a dynamic blend of adventure-based learning and environmental awareness activities.

This groundbreaking initiative, combined outdoor education with sustainability principles, empowering young people to develop critical life skills while fostering environmental stewardship.

The action-packed event featured:

  • A Sustainability-Themed Treasure Hunt, teaching teamwork, resourcefulness and eco-conscious problem-solving
  • Walking on a Rope to build confidence and balance
  • Orienteering Exercises to develop navigation and decision-making skills
  • Disc Golf for coordination and friendly competition

The event was held under the auspices of the Youth Board of Cyprus, which serves as the Strategic Supporter of the programme. The programme is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Evagoras & Kathleen Lanitis Foundation, Fleet Management, KPMG, Hellenic Bank, CYTA, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, and MUFG Investor Services. Additional support comes from Alion Vegetables and Fruits, Grant Thornton, Pyrgou Vakis Law Firm, Cito Gourmet Express, Scaffolding Solutions, Kapnos Airport Shuttle and V Hypersound and Light. These contributions help ensure that the youth of Cyprus are empowered with the knowledge and skills required to build a more sustainable future.
