Attorney General and China's Deputy Justice Minister discuss corruption issues

Attorney General George Savvides and the Deputy Minister of Justice of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yuwen, met in Nicosia and discussed issues related to mechanisms in place for combating corruption in the two countries.

A press release issued by the Law Office said that the 24 April meeting was particularly constructive and the delegations of the two sides, headed by Savvides and Wang discussed bilateral and international cooperation for tackling corruption and the mechanisms and bodies in place to fight the issue in the public sector.

The Attorney General and the Chinese official described the meeting as particularly useful in exchanging information and best practices on issues of common interest, the press release noted.
