President: "Increased interest in investments in our country"

President Nikos Christodoulides said that he is fully satisfied with the outcome of the meetings he held in the United States this week, stressing that the effort to attract investments will continue in a targeted manner in other countries as well.

Responding to reporters - and comments suggesting that it may not have yielded the results he had hoped for- President Christodoulides asserted that “the visit produced specific results”.

He added, “These results have already been announced, and I am particularly pleased because our contacts in the three states demonstrated increased interest in investing in our country.”

“And because I hear some criticism regarding the timing of the trip, let me relay—along with others who accompanied me—what we heard from those we met with: that the timing, especially considering the announcements made by the American side, was in fact favourable for discussing the issue of American investments outside the United States,” he said.

“I am fully satisfied with the results,” President Christodoulides concluded, adding that investment decisions in Cyprus have already been announced and that more announcements will follow shortly.
