Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanolis, is paying Athens a working visit, during which she will participate in a series of events and hold meetings with representatives of the shipping industry until September 19.
The Deputy Ministry of Shipping said in a press release that the visit is part of ongoing efforts to further strengthen, promote, and advance Cypriot shipping and the Cypriot Registry at an international level.
During her stay in Athens, Hadjimanolis will participate in a series of important events and will meet with representatives of the shipping industry, the press release noted.
Specifically, the Deputy Minister of Shipping will address an event organised by the Deputy Ministry of Shipping on the theme "Woman, Shipping, Social Contribution," on the occasion of World Maritime Day, in the presence of the First Lady of the Republic of Cyprus, Philippa Karsera Christodoulides.
At the same time, she will attend the Annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Shipowners Association (CSA), where she will deliver an address, as well as the annual dinner organised by the CSA, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides.
As part of her visit, the Deputy Minister of Shipping will also be a speaker at an event organised by the Panhellenic Maritime Federation (PMF), in cooperation with the Federation of Transport, Petroleum, and Agriculture Workers of Cyprus (FETPA), on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC 2006).
Hadjimanolis will hold a series of meetings with executives of shipping companies, aiming to further promote the comparative advantages of Cyprus as an international shipping centre, enhance the competitiveness of Cypriot shipping, and highlight the Cypriot registry, the press release concluded.
