The avant-premiere of the multi-award-winning film 'Hold Onto Me' by Cypriot director Myrsini Aristidou was held with great success at the K-Cineplex in Nicosia.
Aristidou is pictured above with the actress who performed the role of the movie's young protagonist, Maria Petrova.
More than 150 guests attended this special evening, including political figures, government and institutional representatives, representatives of foreign embassies, as well as people from the fields of culture and cinema, marking an important moment for Cypriot filmmaking.
The evening takes on even greater significance as 'Hold Onto Me' is Cyprus' official submission for the 99th Academy Awards, in the International Feature Film category, continuing its dynamic international trajectory.
The event began with a reception to welcome the guests and culminated with the official screening of the film in Cyprus, amidst a particularly warm atmosphere.
'Hold Onto Me' had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award in the World Cinema Dramatic category, and continues its festival run at major events around the world.
Starring Christos Passalis and Maria Petrova, the film tells a deeply human story about family, absence and reunion.
From 17 September at K-Cineplex cinemas throughout Cyprus.
