Andreas Pishias: CIBA has always supported the effective overhaul of the Tax Framework

“The Cyprus International Businesses' Association (CIBA) always supported the effective overhaul of the Republic of Cyprus' Tax Framework in order to increase competitiveness of the Economy, always in line with EU Law and the procedural as well as substantive pre - requisites under the obligations towards EU,” Andreas Pishias says, speaking on behalf of CIBA’s President and Board.

Asked to comment on the recent presentation of expert recommendations on the reform of Cyprus’ taxation system, Pishias went on to note, “Of course, we will have not only to bear in mind but also to seriously take into consideration with the global scenery, including USA related legal and economical developments within the ambit of the Strategic Co-Operation Agreement.”

Speaking to CBN, he also revealed, “CIBA is in the process of studying the content of the presentation dated 26 February 2025 of the project ‘Cyprus Tax Reform: Recommendations for a Modern Tax System’, and will be submitting before His Excellency The President of the Republic of Cyprus and the honourable Minister of Finance the views and suggestions of CIBA as to the way forward, which will then become publicly available.”
