Ιndustrial production in January up by 4.3% on annual basis

The Industrial Production Index reached 103.9 units (base 2021=100) in January 2025, recording an increase of 4.3% compared to January 2024, CySTAT data show.

In particular, the manufacturing sector registered an increase of 3.7% compared to January 2024, while an increase was also observed in the sectors of mining and quarrying (+16.8%), water supply and materials recovery (+9.6%) and electricity supply (+3.7%).

It is added that the most significant positive changes in the manufacturing sector compared to January 2024 were observed in the manufacturing of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (+29.9%), other non-metallic mineral products (+23.2%), and machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (+6.7%).

The most important negative changes were observed in the manufacturing of paper and paper products and printing (-12.3%) and furniture and repair/installation of machinery and equipment (-6.6%), the statement concludes.
