Research Deputy Minister in Athens for talks on digital governance

Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, Dr. Nicodemos Damianou , is in Athens for a meeting on Tuesday, with his Greek counterpart, Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, to discuss issues in the field of digital governance.

The 4 February meeting between the two Ministers will focus, among other things, on the next steps for the implementation of the interconnection of the 'Digital Citizen' application with the corresponding Greek application 'Gov.gr Wallet,' as well as specific cooperation issues in the field of digital governance, a press release issued by the Deputy Minister said.

At the same time, officials from the two countries will have a series of meetings to exchange best practices and develop solutions for providing high-quality digital public services, with an emphasis on simplifying processes and ensuring system interoperability.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Digital Policy will participate and deliver a greeting at the 1st Cyber Intelligence Forum 2025, which is held under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, where policymakers, top experts, and IT executives will discuss and analyse critical aspects concerning cybersecurity.

Damianou will return to Cyprus on 5 February.
