Electrical interconnection: CERA and RAAEY to teleconference over IPTO’s recoverable costs requests for 2024-25

Cyprus and Greece’s energy regulatory authorities, Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) and The Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste and Water (RAAEY), are anticipated to have a teleconference at around noon on 23 September.

It is understood that the teleconference will examine a request by the implementing body of the Cyprus-Greece electrical interconnection project (Great Sea Interconnector-GSI), the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO), in relation to recoverable costs related to the project.

According to Cyprus News Agency (CNA) sources, the recoverable costs, which IPTO is requesting, concern its capital costs and operating costs for the years 2024 and 2025.

In the meantime, as CNA has been informed, CERA Chairman Andreas Poullikkas will not participate in the session, as he is now on leave until his departure from the position of Chairman on 31 October.

Poullikas had submitted his resignation from CERA to the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, who has accepted it.
