Sarapis Energy: Preparing to build a 3,427 MW photovoltaic park in the Paphos district

A project for the construction and operation of a 3,427 MW photovoltaic park, owned by Sarapis Energy Ltd, in the Paphos district communities of Simou and Giolou is in the process of Public Consultation (116/2024) according to an announcement by the Environmental Department.

The study concerns the project's Environmental Impact Assessment and subsequent report.

As stated, this is a Renewable Energy project and the study will be open for consultation until 10 October 2024.

As stated by the Department of Environment, with the above procedure and within the framework of the principles of prevention and precaution, the necessary measures, conditions and restrictions are established through which it is ensured that the project/activity or plan/programme will be implemented based on the principles of sustainable development.

Therefore, the environmental impacts of the project are being taken into account along with its economic and social impacts, the Department said.
