Ministry satisfied with consumers’ response to ‘’photovoltaics for all’’ scheme

The Energy Ministry has expressed satisfaction over the response to its ‘’photovoltaics for all’’ scheme from consumers.

A press release says that by July the Ministry received 6,000 applications which were budgeted for the first phase of the scheme in the framework of a wider project which aims to sponsor the use of RES in households for the period 2024-25.

A total of 5,000 applicants received a response by the authorities on the scheme and pre-approval has also been given to approximately 4,000 electricity consumers, who have a 10-month deadline and can now proceed with offers from installers to install solar panels in their homes.

The Ministry will soon announce the second phase of the new "Photovoltaic for All" Category and it expects that the operation of photovoltaic systems on the grid, which will come from this Category, will increase significantly in the next period, resulting in the consequent reduction of the total installation time.
