Valentinos Polykarpou, Chairman of TechIsland, has welcomed the approval of a bill by the House on the procedures for the EU Blue Card.

"As TechIsland, we welcome the approval of the amendment bill regarding the procedures for the EU Blue Card by the House of Representatives yesterday,” he said in a written statement. “Our country is on a path of significant growth, with the tech sector leading the way and contributing to transforming Cyprus into a hub of technology and innovation.”

Based on these bills, he said, the framework for attracting and retaining highly skilled third-country nationals in the local tech sector will be improved. “These professionals contribute to the development of high-level expertise at the local level, which is of utmost importance for the further evolution of the sector,” he added, before concluding: “We look forward to the swift and effective implementation of the legislation within the framework of the long-term goal of creating a thriving and prosperous digital economy."
