Cyprus Games Summit to bring industry into direct conversation with policymakers, institutions and professionals

Taking place in Limassol on 12 November, the Cyprus Games Summit will bring together professionals from games studios, investment funds, law firms, staffing, finance and accounting service providers, universities, policymakers and ministries for a day of on-stage and off-stage discussions.

Organised by C Business Advisors in cooperation with Games Industry Law Summit, the event will be held at the Carob Mill venue, and registration is required.

Speaking to CBN and InBusinessNews, George Mountis, Co-Managing Partner of key partner of the event Chrysostomides Advocates & Legal Consultants and Secretary to the Board of Cyprus Game Makers Association (CYGMA), noted that, “The games industry in Cyprus has reached an important stage in its development.”

“The conversation is no longer simply about recognising its growth, but about what Cyprus must do to sustain it,” Mountis continued, adding, “We are competing internationally for companies, investment and talent, and must create the conditions that allow businesses already here to grow, recruit and remain competitive over the long term.”

As the expert noted, “This is what makes the Cyprus Games Summit particularly timely. It will bring the industry into direct conversation with policymakers, institutions and professionals to examine the interconnected issues affecting its future, including international competitiveness, talent attraction and retention, intellectual property, access to financial services, and the development of the local skills base through closer links between industry and education.”

“Crucially, we can now approach this conversation with a much clearer understanding of the sector, following the work undertaken over the past two years to map its footprint, strengths and challenges,” Mountis went on to point out, adding, “From my perspective as Co-Managing Partner of Chrysostomides Advocates & Legal Consultants and Secretary to the CYGMA Board, the Summit’s real value lies in helping translate that understanding and dialogue into practical priorities.”

“The ambition should not simply be to attract more games companies to Cyprus, but to build an environment in which the sector can develop sustainably and remain internationally competitive. C Business Advisors, together with the Games Industry Law Summit, is organising the Summit to facilitate precisely this kind of multidisciplinary dialogue, with Chrysostomides supporting the initiative as a key partner,” he concluded.

Nicoletta Piera, General Manager of C Business Advisors, co-organiser of the Summit, also commented on the thinking behind the event, noting, “Through the Cyprus Games Summit, we want to bring together the people who are shaping the future of the games industry in Cyprus. By connecting industry leaders with policymakers, academics and professionals from across relevant fields, we hope to encourage an open and practical discussion that moves beyond identifying challenges and towards exploring solutions, stronger collaboration and meaningful next steps.”
