Women in Tech Cyprus Special Meetup

In collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Women in Tech® Cyprus is hosting a special Meetup in light of the visit of the delegation from the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), headed by Secretary General Deemah Al Yahya.

The Meeting will take place on Monday 1 July, from 5pm-7pm at ASBIS KYPROS LTD, Iapetou 1, Agios Athanasios, Limassol.

Participants at the event will discuss female empowerment in tech from a regional perspective and the opportunities for cross-border cooperation.

More specifically, the happening will include keynote speeches by Josie Christodoulou, Commissioner for Gender Equality, Republic of Cyprus and Deemah Al Yahya, Secretary General, Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).

These will be followed by a panel discussion entitled, 'Uniting Women in Tech Across Borders: Regional Strategies and Collaborations.'

According to the organisers, this panel discussion will delve into the multifaceted challenges and opportunities faced by women in the technology sector, with a particular focus on the Middle East. In a region marked by patriarchal societal norms, cultural and gender challenges, and a developing tech ecosystem, the role of ecosystems, relevant organizations, government policies, and cross-border collaborations becomes crucial. Our panelists will discuss strategies and initiatives that can be implemented on a regional level, and collaborations between different ecosystems to empower women in tech and drive meaningful change across borders.

The panelists will be Deemah Al Yahya, Secretary General, Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Maria Terzi, Co-founder & CEO, Malloc, and Tanya Romanyukha, CEO, TechIsland & Director, Women in Tech® Cyprus. The panel will be moderated by Michael Tyrimos, Founder & CEO, Capacitor Partners.
