Interfreight Logistics increases fleet productivity by 15% using Frotcom

Using various Frotcom features, the Cyprus freight forwarding and logistics company has seen a transformation in fleet productivity and a significant cost reduction.

Interfreight Logistics is a freight forwarding and logistics company established in 2005 with headquarters in Limassol, Cyprus. Since its formation, the company has established a sub-agent network covering more than 100 ports worldwide, operating in Limassol, Hamburg, and Piraeus. Interfreight Logistics currently has 68 vehicles equipped with Frotcom to ensure optimal fleet performance and achieve its fleet management goals.

Client Goals and Challenges

One of the primary challenges the Cyprus company faced was tracking fleet expenses, as they relied mainly on manual control with Excel spreadsheets, which consumed significant time and valuable resources, bringing inefficiencies into their operations. Moreover, Interfreight Logistics needed access to crucial data relating to fuel supply and consumption, fuel theft, and temperature control monitoring. This data gap restricted their ability to make informed decisions and optimize fleet management. Lastly, the company could not download tachograph data remotely, so its vehicles often had to stop to download the data manually. These constant interruptions led to high operating costs and reduced fleet productivity.

These operational difficulties highlighted the urgent need for a comprehensive solution to these multifaceted challenges.

Client Benefits

Monitoring its fleet with Frotcom has enabled better planning and reduced driving times. Additionally, with Frotcom's Fleet alarms, notifications upon drivers’ job completion in specific areas, providing transparency on delivery times and additional human resource requirements.

With Frotcom's Fleet cost management, expense tracking has become much simpler. This feature effectively monitors monthly expenditures, consolidating all costs into one system. Moreover, the company now receives timely notifications for service appointments and driving license renewals.

Using Frotcom's Remote tachograph download drivers' data is now accessible without requiring workshop visits, saving valuable time. Through Frotcom's integration with VDO Fleet via the Frotcom API, drivers can now receive an automatic report detailing their infringements. Finally, using the Driving behavior analysis module, the Frotcom team customized a periodic driver infringement report, ensuring that each driver received it in their preferred language for better understanding and compliance.

Through Frotcom's API integration with KASASI (Lidl Global Platform), Interfreight Logistics can monitor cargo temperature in its fleet operations. This feature has significantly improved the company's communication process with its customer, Lidl, who can now independently access and monitor its deliveries.

According to the customer, using Frotcom's features has allowed Interfreight Logistics to increase fleet productivity by 15% and reduce overall costs by 10%.

Panayiotis Alexandrou, Interfreight Logistics Fleet Manager, shared a few thoughts about Frotcom:

"I would definitely recommend Frotcom to other companies. lt has truly 'freed my hands.' The efficiency and effectiveness of the system have been a game-changer for our operations. It has allowed me to focus on key priorities by streamlining tasks and simplifying complex processes. Frotcom has not only saved time but has also enhanced our productivity, making it an invaluable asset for any business looking to optimize its fleet. We currently have a robust solution in place, but we're excited about ongoing improvements and upgrades with Frotcom. Our successful collaboration has us looking forward to further enhancements in our partnership.”

The Frotcom system was implemented smoothly over six months through distinct phases, ensuring a seamless adaptation. The implementation began with a thorough fleet analysis and account configuration, focusing on user roles and access and establishing exclusive automatic reports for the fleet manager. Subsequent stages included comprehensive cost management, integration with KASASI, and trailer configuration.

Communication and guidance remained consistent throughout the implementation process, with the Frotcom team providing constant support. The final phase encompassed the setup of VDO reports and driver access permissions. Finally, the modular approach, marked by meticulous setup and training, contributed to the overall success of the implementation in the Interfreight Logistics fleet.
