Retail trade up 4.6% in value and 4.7% in volume in October 2024 y/o/y

The Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade for October 2024 increased by 4.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, according to data published by CySTAT.

For the same month, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade increased by 4.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

Regarding the value index, the largest increase was recorded in the category Food, beverages and tobacco in specialised stores. In the volume index, the largest increase was at Cultural and recreation goods (books, stationery, sports equipment, toys).

Both in value and volume indexes, the largest drop was recorded in Retail sale not in stores.

For the period January-October 2024, the Value Index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 5.2% and the Volume Index an increase of 4.1% compared to the same period of 2023.
