RSM Cyprus leads a second-hand items collection campaign supporting the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society

On November 22, 2024, in the context of its Corporate Social Responsibility program, RSM Cyprus successfully concluded its first across Cyprus second-hand item collection campaign in support of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.

All RSM Cyprus team members enthusiastically embraced the campaign and gathered over 60 bags of clothing, linens, shoes and other items delivered to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society to aid patients and their families in need.

The initiative will occur twice a year and aims to support Cyprus Anti-Cancer palliative care services for cancer patients in the two Palliative Care centres, Arodafnousa (Nicosia) and Evagoreio (Limassol), as well as providing free home care services in all the provinces of Cyprus.

Some second-hand items will be given directly to patients and their families, while others will be placed in charity shops run by the Cyprus Anti-cancer Society.

Nicoleta Athanasiadou, Head of Communication & PR, Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, says: "The Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society expresses its sincere gratitude to RSM Cyprus for the valuable initiative of collecting used items. The RSM Cyprus team's generous donation supports our work, as the products collected will be sold in our charity shops in Limassol. The funds will be allocated exclusively to support the palliative care services we offer in the Arodafnousa and Evagorio centres, as well as through free home care services throughout Cyprus. Initiatives like these are vital to furthering our cause and delivering quality care to those who need it most."

Correspondingly, George Themistocleous, Managing Partner, CEO of RSM Cyprus, states, "We are extremely proud of our team's participation in the campaign, representing our company's fundamental beliefs of empathy and understanding. We will continue supporting these types of activities that aim to build a stronger and more empathetic society."

For over 50 years, the Cyprus Anti-cancer Society has provided free palliative care services to thousands of patients and their families.

It is noteworthy to mention that RSM has signed the UN Global Compact, focusing on five Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Good health and Well-being (SDG3), Quality Education (SDG4), Gender Equality (SDG5), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG8), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG9). In addition to that, a core part of RSM's global Strategy until 2030 focuses on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) themes.

The company looks forward to the campaign's next phase, which is scheduled for the beginning of June 2025.
