Cyprus to host Emmy-related event?

The Cyprus Film Commission made its debut at the International Emmy Awards, held in New York on 25 November, and its Chairman, Lefteris Eleftheriou, has teased that the island is also set to host an upcoming Emmy-related event, with Invest Cyprus expected to announce more details soon.

“This year marked a significant milestone as the Cyprus Film Commission made its debut at the esteemed International Emmy Awards in New York City,” Eleftheriou said in a LinkedIn post. “Among nominees from across the globe, Cyprus proudly participated in this grand event.”

He added, “The anticipation rises as Invest Cyprus is set to unveil an upcoming related to Emmy event in our nation. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!”

Cyprus' audiovisual industry has been booming, particularly in the past year, with the island's most noteworthy production, Find Me Falling - a film produced in Cyprus starring well-known singer and actor Harry Connick Jr and written and directed by Cypriot writer/director Stelana Kliris - topping the Netflix Weekly Top 10 lists of the most-watched TV and films in its very first week of streaming.

The International Emmy Awards 2024, presented by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS), celebrates the crème de la crème of international TV programs that are produced and aired outside America.
