Jason Cave: There is a need for strong regulatory mechanisms in the fintech ecosystem

Recent developments in the US have highlighted new challenges but also unique opportunities for innovation in the financial sector, Jason Cave, Principal of Piedmont Risk Advisors LLC has suggested.

He was addressing the recent 10th International Funds Summit & Expo presented by CIFA and Invest Cyprus in Nicosia.

With many years of experience as a banking regulator and former member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, Jason Cave presented the participants with the latest developments in the financial technology (fintech) landscape in the US.

He focused on the challenges arising from the new regulations and emphasised the importance of businesses monitoring these changes to take advantage of the opportunities created.

Cave's presentation also highlighted the need for stronger regulatory mechanisms to ensure safety and transparency in the fintech ecosystem, without limiting innovative business initiatives.

Concluding, he spoke about the importance of developing the fintech landscape and the business opportunities presented within this fast-growing sector.
