Panagiotis Trisokkas named new president of the National Betting Authority

The Cabinet has appointed Panagiotis Trisokkas as the new president of the National Betting Authority (NBA).

The Cabinet also appointed a new Board of Directors.

Trisokkas, who has enjoyed an illustrious career in basketball, participated in the last parliamentary elections as a DISY candidate in the district of Famagusta.

Panagiotis Trisokkas holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Business Administration and currently works at Eurobank Cyprus as a lending officer.

As a basketball player, he was the captain of Cyprus’ national team, Keravnos Strovolos and Frederick University. He has completed in the teams of Enosis Neon Paralimni, Keravnos, Makedonikos, Achilleas and AEK. He was also named the best teenager, youth and Cypriot basketball player.

Trisokkas was the most valuable player of the cup finals and considered and was an eight-time All-Star player with five Super Cups, four championships and seven cups.

With the National Team, he won four medals at Games of Small States of Europe and, with the Frederick University team, he won silver and bronze medals at European Universities Basketball Championship events.

Among other posts, he has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Sports Organisation, a member of Cyprus Olympic Committee, and a torchbearer at a Games of Small States of Europe.
