SMT participates in Maritime Anti-Corruption Network Member's Meeting

SMT Shipping attended the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) Member's Meeting in Kuala Lumpur on 22-24 October.

The Cyprus-based shipping giant was represented by Anna Bury and Kateryna Kolesnichenko, who travelled from Poland.

The event emphasised the importance of anti-corruption measures and featured engaging discussions on strengthening compliance across the maritime industry.

A key highlight was the session on front-line reporting, where practical insights were shared by Masters on dealing with unethical demands safely and effectively. The session underscored the need for robust reporting mechanisms and support from shipowners, charterers and their Clubs to tackle corruption in the maritime industry.
