Employment and hours worked up in Q2

An increase in both employment and hours worked was observed in the second quarter of 2023, according to Cystat.

Total employment is estimated to have reached 464,107 individuals, with 413,121 being employees and 50,986 self-employed. This figure signifies an uptick of 1.5% compared to the same period in 2022.

The growth in employment was mainly observed in specific economic sectors, including Administrative and Supporting Service activities, other service activities, and information and communication.

The total number of hours worked during the second quarter is estimated at 211,611 thousand hours, marking a 1.3% increase compared to the same quarter in 2022. Similar to the employment figures, the most significant percentage increases in hours worked, were observed in administrative and supporting service activities, other service activities, and information and communication.
