Paphos Marina construction tender process 'to begin mid-September'

The process of calling for tenders for the Paphos Marina is expected to begin around mid-September.

The Paphos Chamber of Commerce & Industry is waiting for the announcement of the tender for the recruitment of consultants for the preparation of the tender documents for the construction of the Paphos Marina, according to its president Giorgos Mais.

In statements to CNA, Mais said that the announcement had been expected at the beginning of August, however, an issue arose with the documents that were sent to the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus for an opinion. "They were told to make some corrections, they were carried out, they sent them back and the Law Office of the Republic expects them to be ready in the first or second week of September," he added.

The president of the Paphos Chamber said that this meant the announcement of the tender was expected around mid-September.

In response to a question, Mais said that the concerns of Paphos agencies regarding the framework of development have been satisfied.

The tender will be conducted using the build-operate-transfer (BOT) method and interested investors will be invited based on the terms of the announcement, he concluded.
