New Larnaca hotel under review

A public consultation is currently underway with the Department of Environment over plans to build a new, six-floor hotel in Larnaca.

The hotel will be built where the former Eva Hotel is currently located on the up and coming Oroklini beach strip. The long-shuttered decrepit building is going to be demolished.

The main contractor behind the project is White Arches Tourist Enterprises Limited, while the entire cost is estimated at €4m.

It is noted that a demolition permit has already been issued for Eva Hotel, while the company’s environmental impact study is currently being reviewed by the environmental authorities.

According to the proposed plans, the hotel will consist of a ground floor plus five more floors as well as an underground level, which already exists at the old building. Construction work, once the necessary permits are issued, is expected to last around two years.

The project includes a modern and luxury hotel building that is around 23.5m high and includes 44 rooms, pools, parking space, dining areas, events rooms, a gym and warehouse.

It falls under the Larnaca Local Plan and is located within the Voroklini community.

The Oroklini beach strip, stretching roughly from Larnaca’s town centre all the way up to Dhekelia, has been undergoing a massive overhaul since the oil refineries were moved from the area and it was cleaned up.
