Over 10,000 reservations so far for the Cyprus – Greece ferry link

Over 10,000 reservations have been made to travel on the Cyprus – Greece ferry link since the line first started operating in June 2022, Deputy Minister for Shipping Maria Hadjimanolis said.

She mentioned the numbers during a meeting with Greek Ambassador to Cyprus Ioannis Papameletiou on 14 June.

Hadjimanolis said she was pleased to see there has been a very keen interest in using the ferry link, which was reinstated last year after more than 20 years with the state’s support.

The deputy minister informed the Greek diplomat that as of this year, due to popular demand, the connection will also include trips from the port of Larnaca in a bid to better serve the public.

She also thanked Papameletiou for the “significant contribution” of Greece and all the competent Greek state services, as well as Piraeus Port.

Furthermore, Hadjimanolis briefed Papameletiou that she will extend an invitation to the new Greek Shipping Minister after the elections in end-June to attend the 2023 Maritime Cyprus Conference to be held on 8-11 October 2023.
