President signs law extending reduction of fuel taxes

President Nikos Christodoulides has already signed the law extending the reduction of fuel taxes until May 4, 2023, after the bill was approved by the House Plenary.

An announcement by the Presidency said the law would come into force on Thursday night, after being published in the Government Gazette.

The bill was voted through unanimously, after being tabled as a matter of urgency following its discussion at the House Finance Committee. MPs noted that they expect and demand the competent government services to be able to implement the law as of midnight.
