FM to discuss humanitarian corridor initiative with Israeli officials

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos is visiting Israel in light of the latest developments in the Middle East and in the framework of his ongoing contacts with his counterparts of countries in the region.

During the 16 November visit, he will also discuss, among others, with Israeli officials the Cypriot initiative to establish a maritime corridor for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

According to a Foreign Ministry press release, Kombos will be received by Israeli President Isaac Herzog and will have a meeting with his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen. 

As stated, the Foreign Minister's contacts will focus on the situation in the region following the terrorist attacks by Hamas on October 7, as well as Cyprus' initiative to create a maritime corridor for the delivery of humanitarian aid.

During his visit, Kombos will also meet with the staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Tel Aviv, the press release concluded.
