2024 WISTA International AGM and Conference to be held in Limassol

WISTA Cyprus has announced its role as host for the WISTA International AGM and Conference 2024, an event placed under the auspices of the Shipping Deputy Ministry.

A press release from the organisation noted that, during the 2023 WISTA International AGM and Conference which took place on 23-25 October 2023 in Montevideo, Uruguay, Cyprus was selected as the location for the 2024 event. The photo at the top of this article was from that event.

WISTA (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association) is a global organisation connecting executives and decision-makers around the world, who believe that diversity and inclusion in the maritime industry is key towards a sustainable future.

Some 59 countries support a National WISTA Association (NWA) while WISTA Cyprus provides in-country and regional networking, business and skill-building opportunities, corporate visibility, and also facilitates relationships within the industry.

The 2024 conference will focus on the crucial interplay of innovation, diversity, and sustainability within the maritime industry, aiming to gather global leaders and innovators for groundbreaking discussions, the announcement continued.

The maritime sector is on the brink of pivotal change. With increasing environmental challenges, the demand for inventive technologies and approaches has never been higher. This makes diverse insights and expertise essential. WISTA Cyprus's determination to host this event amplifies its dedication to these core values, emphasising the need for an inclusive maritime environment enriched by varied perspectives, it noted.
