New electricity lines planned to connect seven solar parks to the EAC Network in Larnaca

Bioland and EAC have submitted information reports to the environmental authorities concerning the development of the new medium-voltage line, to interconnect five and two photovoltaic parks, respectively, with the EAC network.

The five photovoltaic parks of the EAC in Tersefanou

Specifically, the EAC submitted an information report for the development of a new medium-voltage line to interconnect five photovoltaic parks in the Tersefanou community of Larnaca district, with the EAC electricity transmission network.

According to the information report, the cost of the project is estimated at €1.2 million and concerns the installation of underground medium voltage cables, approximately 2532 meters long, the construction and operation of a new medium voltage electricity transmission line, 9358 meters long, with bare 70mm2 conductors and the replacement of conductors on an existing medium voltage line, 1852 meters long, with bare 70mm2 conductors.

It is clarified that the proposed project will be constructed along an asphalted and mainly dirt road, which passes through the municipal district of Tersefanou and a small part of it through Klavdia and Kalo Chorio, Larnaca.

Bioland's two photovoltaic parks in Pyla

The second information report was submitted by the company Bioland Project Ltd for the installation of a new medium voltage line to interconnect two photovoltaic parks with the EAC network, in the community of Pyla, Larnaca district.

The estimated cost of the project ranges from €360 thousand and the duration of the project execution is six months after obtaining the required permits.

The project concerns the installation of a new medium voltage line for the purpose of interconnecting two photovoltaic parks with the EAC network.

The two photovoltaic parks have already been granted a planning permit, but construction work for their construction has not begun.

As stated in the report, one photovoltaic park with a capacity of 4MW belongs to the company Bioland Project 20 Ltd and will be constructed at the Vergi location in the Pyla community, and the second photovoltaic park, owned by the company Bioland Project 75 Ltd, will be constructed at the Hemitzi location in the Pyla community.

As noted, the proposed project does not fall within the Natura 2000 network areas.
