In a packed hall and in the presence of the political leadership, diplomatic representatives, investors and important personalities of the Cypriot business community, Invest Cyprus celebrated its 20th anniversary on Tuesday, 3 November, 2026.
The anniversary event, held at The Landmark Nicosia, became a meeting point for representatives of the government, the economy and the international business ecosystem, highlighting the position that the Organisation has acquired in the effort to attract quality investments and strengthen the international presence of Cyprus.
The event was honored by the presence and greeting of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, while the crowd was also made up of government ministers, ambassadors and high commissioners, members of the House of Representatives, former Chairmen and Directors General of Invest Cyprus, as well as representatives of the investment and business community. This wide participation gave special importance to the evening, which combined the retrospective of the twenty-year course of the Organisation with the presentation of its prospects for the coming years.
The program opened with the screening of an anniversary video, which was a tribute to the journey of Invest Cyprus and the people who contributed to its development. This was followed by the keynote speech of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Evgenios Evgeniou, who referred to the mission of the Organisation, the importance of maintaining and further developing the investments that Cyprus attracts, as well as the strategy it will determine what comes next.
Chris Knight, Managing Director of FT Locations, then took the floor, offering an international perspective on investment developments and Cyprus' position in the competitive environment of international markets. The presentation of FT Locations' findings added an extra dimension to the debate surrounding the country's investment dynamics.
A special moment of the evening was the speech of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides. Referring to the course of Invest Cyprus, he praised its contribution to the promotion of the country abroad and the attraction of foreign investments, while announcing that the government is preparing proposals for the assignment of additional responsibilities to the Organisation, with one of them concerning the export sector.
The President also referred to the transformation of the Cypriot economy, the diversification of its productive base and the importance of stability, economic responsibility and international extroversion for the creation of new investment opportunities.
The anniversary evening concluded with a special ceremony to recognise the former Chairmen and Directors General of Invest Cyprus, who contributed to the course and development of the Organisation over the past two decades. The honorary distinctions were a symbolic recognition of their contribution and leadership, followed by a cocktail reception and an entertainment program, giving the guests the opportunity to continue their discussions and contacts.
The completion of 20 years of Invest Cyprus was an opportunity to honor the collective effort that has shaped its course to date, but also to highlight the importance of cooperation between the state, institutions, investors and the business community to strengthen Cyprus as an international business and investment destination.
